A lot of people that I speak to worry that they don’t have enough time to devote to building an online business.

This was a big concern for me too and was probably one of the main reasons that I procrastinated for so long.

I worked full-time and away from home during the week and wanted to maximise my time with my family at the weekend.

For a long time I had convinced myself that I didn’t have enough time.

However, I eventually realised that this is “CHICKEN AND EGG” THINKING!

One of the main things that drew me to starting an online business was the goal of eventually replacing my income so that I could leave my 9 to 5 job.

WITHOUT GETTING STARTED I HAD NO CHANCE OF REALISING THIS GOAL.

When I eventually did get started I found that, in all honesty, it hasn’t taken as much time as I initially feared it would.

I’ve learned to focus my limited time on the right things.

Here’s another cracking video from Stuart where he explores this in more detail.

He explains HOW AND WHAT YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON in order to build a successful online business with limited time availability.

There is a phenomenon known as Parkinson’s Law which basically states that the amount of time required to complete a task will expand with the amount of time available.

The converse is also true i.e. if you don’t have a lot of time available to complete a task then you’ll be much more focused and much more efficient and even although you think you don’t have enough time…….you’ll STILL GET IT DONE!

As Stuart explains, the trick is in FOCUSING ON INCOME PRODUCING ACTIVITIES.

Too many people spend too much time on education….buying the latest and greatest training course….reading every book they can find…..going to seminars.

Now I’m not saying that eduction not important. Of course it is. BUT once you understand the basics it needs to take a back seat to income producing work.

In general it should be limited to around 20% of your time when you are starting out.

It’s also important that you don’t get caught up in chasing perfection.

Particularly when you are building up your business you need to remember that Good Enough is Good Enough! It doesn’t need to be perfect.

I’ve found this is really true in terms of the quality and look of your website, landing pages and the professionalism of your videos. These things are not nearly as important as your message and how you connect with people!

As always, I hope that you find this useful. If I can help answer any of your questions then don’t hesitate to contact me.

All the best,

Robert
